How many times a day do you use google? If you’re like me, it’s probably more than a handful of times. Today I used Google to find the Chinese carry out number for lunch. I also used it this morning to look up several addresses. I’ve even learned to leverage the power of the internet in dire moments when I need help with some kind of home project or assessing what’s wrong with an appliance. I can easily testify to my own use of Google, often multiple times a day. Recently, I became aware of just how much Google is used in major life decision making. As much as 80% of people turn to Google to find help with their marriage or children, their struggles with mental illness, or any number of other weighty life matters.
I would imagine that some of our churches would love to help couples facing difficult challenges in their marriage or family or helping someone find hope in the midst of their struggles with mental health, but most are not positioned on the world wide web to show up in the search results.
