A message from CGWM Director Kathy Foor

I've only been a part of CGGC since 2005. In 2004, we moved across the country to live in the Indian Head community where I would be teaching in a small Christian school. Starting over again was hard. My husband, an engineer, meant we had moved often. I was having trouble connecting but made a decision to attend my first March retreat as a way of making friends with the ladies from my church who were attending. It was a bold move for an introvert!

Friendships with the ladies of my church were sparked. But after that first retreat, I didn't ever want to miss attending! I gained friendships with women from all around the country. But friendship wasn't the only gift I received.  I remember one of the themes was "DREAM BIG". I think Carol Kent was the speaker that year. I came home challenged to trust God to move me forward in the dream He had placed in my heart to write a book.  I still can't believe that happened! I am now the author of three books that God is using to encourage others! If that were not enough, a few years ago the Director of Women's Ministries invited me to attend a National Leadership Team Zoom meeting. That invitation has allowed me to continue to grow into the role of the Director of Women's Ministries myself.

So, I'm not saying if you attend The Flourish Conference you may end up as the Director of CGWM. Our hope, though, is that every woman who attends will draw nearer to the Lord, grow in her relationships with other women, and experience the joy of living the life God has called them to live.

We invite every woman to attend. Bring a friend or make new ones when you arrive. Come expecting God to show up and show off.

Kathy Foor
