Endowments

Please consider sharing a portion of your blessings with the Church through your giving toward, or investing in one of the following options. Churches of God, General Conference (CGGC) Endowed funds are invested to earn a return and annually provide a distribution of earnings to support their stated purpose.

How to Give

Churches of God, General Conference is equipped to receive both liquid and non-liquid assets. Because Churches of God, General Conference is recognized as a 501( c )(3) charitable organization, donors may leverage an income tax advantage. Please consult with your tax advisor. Some of the more common forms of support include:

  • Cash Donation. Cash gifts, unless otherwise specified, are added to the designated fund and become a source of support for continued ministries to serve the common good of the Conference. Click here (add link to our endowment funds giving form) to make an online contribution.
  • Appreciated stock or mutual fund shares.
  • Direct transfers from certain tax-qualified or retirement plans.
  • Non-liquid assets such as real estate, artwork or personal property.
  • Purchase of a charitable gift annuity that will return to you an income stream for the remainder of your (and/or your spouse’s) life while providing a permanent asset to Churches of God, General Conference at your death.
  • Providing for a planned gift through your estate.

Planned Giving

Planned giving strategies can help you make charitable gifts while enjoying tax benefits and preserving economic value for yourself and your loved ones.

Bequests are the most common way to make lasting gifts. Along with one’s local congregation and/or other charitable interests, listing Churches of God, General Conference as a beneficiary in your estate plan will perpetuate a gift for the work of the Kingdom. Donors are encouraged to consult with our staff when preparing their estate plans to ensure that Churches of God, General Conference are able to carry out their wishes.

IRA, 401(k), or Other Qualified Retirement Plan Assets may be given directly to Churches of God, General Conference or other charitable interest if named as beneficiary.

Life Insurance may be used if you name Churches of God, General Conference as the owner and beneficiary of a new or existing policy – perhaps a policy that is no longer essential to your financial goals.

Current Endowment Funds

Alderson Memorial School Endowment (#9702) – for Bangladesh Education. Underwrites expenses for staff, supplies and support for basic, primary, and secondary schools. Established 1968.

Archives – Curator Endowment (#9002) – To support the curator of the archives museum. Established in 1989 via Ida Hickernell.

Archives – Life Membership Endowment (#9004) – life memberships, currently $1,000, are invested to support archives museum operations. Established by Historical Society in 1992. Life Membership Form here: Life Membership Forms

Archives – Quasi Endowment (#9006) – currently designated by and administered by ad council to support operations of the Churches of God, General Conference Historical Society. Established 2018.

Christian Ministries Growth – Unrestricted (#9023) – to promote the mission and growth of the ministries of the Churches of God, General Conference. Established 1988 through deferred and estate gifts. This fund is administered by the Churches of God, General Conference Ad Council.

Church Advocate Endowment (#9706) – to support the Global Advocate, which is currently published quarterly via periodical and digital format as of 2025.

CPH Endowment (#9704) - supports the publications operations of the Churches of God, General Conference. Established 1968.

Daniel S. Forry Endowment (#9700) – for Haiti Church Ministries to provide needed assistance to local churches, schools and indigenous leadership ministries. Established 2001.

Doya Sthan Hospital Endowment (#9703) – for Bangladesh Medical Ministries. Supports village health outreach camps and other associated medical needs. Established 1968.

E. Fidelia Gilbert Endowment (#9707) – 50% for ministries of Winebrenner Theological Seminary and 50% for Bangladesh Medical Ministries for village health outreach camps and other associated medical needs. Established 2005. Any contributions to this fund would follow the same 50/50 allocation for use.

Endowment for New Churches (#9734) – supports church planting of Churches of God, General Conference.

Evangelism & Church Growth Seminars Endowment (#9736) - to underwrite costs of developing seminars in areas of evangelism and church growth. Established 1987.

Global Reach Unrestricted Endowment (#9710) – supports global reach operations and missions served throughout the world.

J. Raymond Swartz Endowment (#9705) – 50% for the Mobilizing Disciples operations and 50% for Global Reach operations fund. Established 2005. Any contributions to this fund would follow the same 50/50 allocation for use.

Robert G. Heady Endowment (#9701) – for the higher education of Christian children in global reach fields and the US Southwest region, who desire to become Christian leaders. Established 2007.
