ACTS Teams (Advancing Christ Through Service) are short-term intergenerational teams seeking to grow closer to God, experience the Gospel at work in different cultures, and see missions as part of everyday life. Teams join together with local Field Leaders and local Christians to do missional and meaningful work that helps to bridge divides, build communities, and demonstrate the Gospel.

This means that the point of joining an ACTS Team isn’t to go be a hero in a foreign country. Instead, the goal is to learn from other people and other cultures by working alongside them and doing mission in their context. The goal is to see what God is doing there that you might bring back to make change and have an impact back in your own context. Likewise, there is an expectation that the ACTS Team experience will cultivate a care and concern for people across border and to be their advocate. We want the experience to encourage supporting missions and field leaders, and to see people from God’s perspective, which is ultimately one of love and compassion.

One of our core values at the CGGC is Daring Action. By this we mean that we are compelled to risk greatly for, and stand secure in, God. In the same way that Isaiah stood in fear before the throne of God but still said “Send me” (Isa 6:8), or when David said to Solomon, “Be strong and courageous and do it” (1 Chr 28:20), it is part of the DNA of the CGGC to act boldly and daringly.

As the destination of each ACTS Team is different, so too is the experience. The itinerary for each ACTS Team is subject to change as the skill set and gifts of the team are considered and tailored to be impactful and meaningful to the team. Tentative itineraries are available on the pages for Kenya and Navajo Nation, Southwest USA. The kinds of work you might do on an ACTS Team then can vary, but below are activities you might partake in:

  • Light Construction
  • Evangelism
  • Community Outreach
  • Vacation Bible School
  • Cleaning
  • Working with Children (face painting, arts, and crafts).
  • Leading or partaking in devotions.

If you’re a pastor or and elder, there are downloadable promotional material for distribution in your local church, or you can request a PowerPoint slide with information on it by email

We hope that people of all ages and abilities answer the call to go on mission and learn what God is doing around the globe. For more information, please see the official ACTS Team page.
