A Thank You And Update About The Giving To CGGC-GR Disaster Relief For Maui Fires.
Many donors have given generously to disaster relief efforts in Maui. We are grateful for the outpouring of gifts and prayers. Almost $50,000 was received at Global Reach for those affected by fires there. After consultation with Pastor Dave Kapaku, funds are being distributed to several non-profit organizations on the ground there to help provide various forms of on-going relief including food, generators, housing short-term and long-term, transportation for workers’ who are displaced, and many other things needed as the recovery continues. We have also provided relief funds to Pastor Dave’s church to support families there who have taken in other relatives affected by the fires. These funds will help cover the extra expenses needed to house these family members. Pastor Dave said the biggest efforts now have transitioned into long term housing needs and associated costs. Many of the non-profits are helping in these areas of relief. Pastor Dave and Kenda express their sincere thanks and want you to know that they have what they need, so your giving can be channeled to other mission fields at this time.
