We’re asking for prayers and financial support for our churches in Venezuela as the rise to meet the needs of their country in a dire moment. Multiple +7 magnitude earthquakes struck Venezuela on Wednesday evening, causing wide spread damage to Caracas and other towns, with entire apartment complexes dashed to the ground. Some reports suggest as many as 200 people have died and more than 1,500 people wounded.
Already our churches in Venezuela, where we have 10 congregations, are stepping up to meet the needs of people affected by the quakes. Thankfully, our church people were largely unaffected, and all of our churches remain operational during the crisis despite the fact that they were relatively close to where the earth quakes hit. We’re grateful to God for their protection. Our churches in Venezuela are actively fundraising right now to help our local populations who are in desperate need of assistance.
Pastor Liarxi Alcala, the field director of our Venezuela mission, has invited donations for disaster relief and we’re helping to facilitate that.
