The CGGC Triennial Conference is just around the corner. Held every three years, this conference brings together delegates from all of our regions in the United States, as well as field leaders and missionaries from our international fields. It’s where the CGGC president steps down and the president elect steps into the role. It’s where the Administrative Council, the governing body of the CGGC, is elected and installed. It’s the biggest opportunity for our regional leaders and up and coming leaders in the CGGC to meet and cross pollinate, whether they are from Maryland or California, Iowa or Georgia, Hawaii or Bangladesh.
While every Triennial Conference is special, this year is extra special! We’re celebrating the 200th anniversary of the CGGC and those celebrations extend before and after the actual conference, and all are welcome.
On Monday, July 14th, there will be 3 special events to help celebrate our history and unity. A historical tour will begin at 12 P.M., July 14th, leaving from the Best Western Premier, The Central Hotel in Harrisburg, PA.

The tour will stop at:
- Elder John Winebrenner’s grave
- The Salem United Church of Christ (one of Winebrenner’s first churches)
- Peace Church (St. John’s)
- Union Bethel in Mechanicsburg
- And the Mechanicsburg Church of God
At 4:00 P.M., after the Tour, a Traditional Hymn Sing will be held at Peace Church (St. John’s). Using music and songs from the time of Elder Winebrenner (and some songs he compiled or wrote in his book titled The Seraphina), the service will be led by Pastor David Welker from College First Church of God. Peace Church is in pristine condition, nearly unchanged from the late 1700’s, when it was built. The service will last approximately 1 hour.

Next, at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, July 14th, Swatara Church of God will be hosting a Missionary Meet and Greet, where all are welcome to hear from missionaries and international field leaders who have journey from across the world to join the celebrations. Hear their stories and updates from their fields, while having extra time to ask questions and speak to them one on one. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.

The Triennial Conference will take place from Tuesday, July 15th, through Thursday morning, July 17th. All are welcome to register at CGGC.Org, and attend. The cut off to ensure we have an accurate food count is July 1st. So, if you haven’t registered yet, register ASAP to ensure we have your meals covered!
At 7:00 P.M., another showing of the celebration film will take place on Thursday, July 17th at 7:00 P.M. at Middletown Church of God. Pastor Kim Shifler of Middletown is part of the cast of the film, and has opened the church’s door to all in the area who want to watch the film in one of our historic churches.
